February Favorites

When I first started this blog, I used to do a monthly series of five favorite products that I was loving lately.  For whatever reason, I stopped being consistent with it but I would like to start this monthly series again!

I’m always trying new products whether brands are sending them to me or I am buying them with my own coins, which is like 75% of the time (lol). I want to share these with you, in case you have been wanting to try them, been wanting to try some new products in general or haven’t heard of the products at all.  With February coming to an end, here are 5 of my favorite products that I’ve used and loved this month:

Summer Fridays Super Amino Gel Cleanser

I’m super late to jump on the Summer Fridays train.  I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical of the brand at first because of all of the hype.  After using (and loving) the R+R Mask that I purchased over the holidays, I respect this brand and want to try more of their products! When I saw they were releasing a cleanser, I ordered it the day it came out on their site.

I don’t have anything bad to say about this cleanser!  I’ve been using it for about two weeks now and haven’t experienced any breakouts.  It lathers nicely, has a light, fresh scent and it leaves my skin feeling so clean without stripping my skin’s moisture. That is super important to me when choosing a cleanser.

Cantu Moisture Retention Styling Gel

I used to use Cantu products all throughout high school and college because they smelled so good! When I found out alcohol was one of the ingredients, I stopped using their products and haven’t used Cantu in at least 5-6 years.  I saw that they released a bunch of new products in January, including some new gels.  I was anxious to try this gel out as it doesn’t include alcohol, sulfates, parabens, silicones, or phthalates.

This month, I’ve been rotating between a foam mousse and this gel on my wash days but I this gel is my new favorite!  It does a great job of keeping my hair hydrated and doesn’t dry it out, even 4-5 days in.  I also love that it doesn’t flake at all or make your curls crunchy.  It provides great definition and hold.  I highly recommend this gel!

Fourth Ray Beauty A-HA Moment Exfoliating Enzyme Mask

(I have a post coming soon sharing why this brand is my favorite!)  This mask is amazing!  The blend of AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) and papaya enzymes help exfoliate dead skin and reveal a fresh and nourished complexion.  For application, you apply to cleansed, dry skin and leave on for leave on for 5-10 minutes and then rinse off.

To be honest, the first time I used this, I forgot it was on my face and I left it on for like 20 minutes.  However, when I washed it off my face, my skin already looked more radiant and the blackheads on my nose were ready to come out. I’ve been using this mask 1-2 times a week.  Aside from other products that I use daily, I’d like to give some credit to this mask for the decrease in blackheads on my nose as well as the minimization of my pores!  This is a must have in your skincare routine!

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer

In 2018 I stopped wearing foundation.  With how intensive my skincare routine is, I wanted to let my skin to breathe. I also wanted to become comfortable leaving the house without make-up on. While I still don’t wear foundation as often as I used to (aside from special occasions), sometimes I do want a little more coverage. This has been my go-to product for events and nights out with friends.

This tinted moisturizer is a favorite of mine and I don’t know why I stopped using it!  I love that it has SPF and it gives a nice dewy finish. I’ll put on some mascara, high lighter and lipstick and I’m ready!

Rael Organic Cotton Pads

I have been wanting to make the switch to organic menstural pads for at least two years now but I hadn’t found a brand that impressed me.  This may be TMI but my flow is pretty medium to heavy, so its important that the pad I use stays in place and doesn’t leak through.

I saw Rael on the shelves in Target and read the good reviews online, so I decided to try them.  Wow, these pads did not disappoint! The price point is great ($5.99) and I buy the longer length pads for more coverage. They are soft and breathable. I didn’t experience any leaks or irritation like I did sometimes when I used Always pads. These are my new go-to pads!

Have you tried any of these products before?  Will you be trying any of these soon?  Let me know in the comments below!
