Aside from my birthday, Christmas has always been my favorite holiday.  Unlike other holidays, like Halloween where we dress up in costume for a day, Christmas feels like it’s own season.  Once the Christmas lights and decorations are up and holiday music starts playing in stores, you can feel the joy in the air.  It’s the time of giving and I truly believe the Christmas season puts everyone in a good mood.  I revel in the air of Christmas spirit and it feels so magical to me.

Another thing I love about Christmas is that there’s an entire genre of music and movies!  How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Home Alone, Jack Frost, Snow Day, The Holiday, etc.  I grew up watching ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas every year with my mom and playing my Christmas CDs (Mariah Carey and NSYNC, of course!) on repeat.  Now I look forward to attending annual Ugly Christmas Sweater parties with friends!

I take great pride in decorating my Christmas tree every year and always have a different color theme based on what I’m inspired by.  I have a huge bin of ornaments in just about every color!  I also like to collect ornaments that I have purchased over the years at different shops and while I was studying abroad.  I can look at each ornament and remember the memory tied to it.

Christmas is such a great time to be with family, exchanging gifts, and just spending quality time together.  I can go on and on but honestly, there is something so special about Christmas in New York.  There’s Bryant Park’s Winter Village, Saks’ annual Light Show, Rockefeller Center’s Tree Lighting, Macys’ Santa Land, Ice-skating, Christmas gift shopping and even just browsing department and retail store’s festive window displays.  There is so much to do and see with the people you love!  Christmas really brings people together and I truly think it is the best holiday saved for last, for everyone to kick back and enjoy before welcoming the New Year.
