In all of the years that I’ve been receiving ipsy bags, I think this may be the first time they have sent a Halloween themed bag – and it’s super cute! I’m not really in the Halloween spirit as I usually am mostly due to the fact that I had two wisdom teeth extracted last week and I am still in recovery mode. 🙁 But I hope everyone has a great Halloween weekend and I look forward to seeing everyone’s costumes! Let’s get into this month’s goodies!
I’ve never heard of Trust Fund Beauty before but was anxious to try out this Trust Fund Beauty Gimme Good Face – Face Primer. When it comes to priming my face, I always rely on Hourglass and BECCA to keep me matte all day. I haven’t been looking for new primers but always like to try new products, so I tried this primer out today! After applying, my face felt really smooth. I wore the primer by itself today, mostly because I was running late for work and didn’t have time to apply foundation! Brushing my teeth these days is quite the project considering I have to be gentle on my left side where I got my wisdom teeth extracted. But anyhoo, back to the primer! I was super busy at work and forgot I had this on. I touched my face at around 4:30ish and some oil started to surface. Just a little bit though, nothing to make me look like a grease ball. So far I am liking this primer. I will try it again under one of my foundations and see how it performs then!
I’m always excited to receive a product from theBalm Cosmetics in my bag. This month I received the theBalm Cosmetics CabanaBoy blush. I am in love with this shade. It’s a dusty rose with plum undertones. I usually opt for more peachy or natural blush shades but I really love this shade and think its perfect for fall looks.
Indi Beauty Buttercream Antioxidant Lip Scrub is an all-natural four-in-one formula that works as a lipstick remover, a lip scrub, lip balm and an anti-aging skincare! It’s full of great vitamins and antioxidants to keep lips looking great! I tried this as a lip scrub the other day and my initial reaction was that it was a little more creamier and oily than other lip scrubs I have used. After reading the ingredients, it does have a few oils (Avocado Oil, Vitamin E Oil and Sweet Almond Oil) in it. It wasn’t harsh when I rubbed it on my lips and after wiping it off, my lips felt refreshed and very soft. I would like to try this scrub as a lipstick remover as well and see how effective it is. I see myself continuing to use this product once I finish my sample.
I also received the tre’StiQue Matte Lip Crayon in Belize Bordeau. While it is a gorgeous shade and perfect for the fall, I honestly only wear liquid lipsticks as I love the long staying power and not having to constantly reapply. This lip crayon was a little too creamy for my liking. This isn’t a product I would use but I would most likely give to a friend.
I have received products from PUR Cosmetics before and liked them. I was happy to receive the PUR Cosmetics Dirty Girl Detoxifying Mudd Masque in my bag this month. The name of this mask suits it so well, honestly. The goal of this mask is to clear skin, exfoliate and unclog pores, with the help of Salicylic Acid. This mask also includes Aloe Vera to soothe irritated skin. I used it last night and was amazed with the results. My skin felt very clean and smooth after using. It wasn’t drying at all and I felt when I was washing the mask off, I was washing off the oil and dirt from my skin. When I looked in the mirror this morning, my skin definitely looked clearer and healthy. I love getting that instant gratification when trying new skincare products. It’s safe to say this mask is already a favorite and will continue to be apart of my skin regimen.
I love the cosmetic bag. I think it’s too awesome for words.
